As part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s “Future Luxury” talk series, Max Lamb and Brent Dzekciorius, Jane Withers and Daisy Ginsberg have been invited to speak on Future Materials.

While certain materials have an enduring relationship to the idea of luxury due to their perennially high cost, changing ecological, technological, economic and social conditions all have an impact on the public perception of value. Could materials that we take for granted as universally accessible today become key markers of exclusive access and class distinction in the near future? Will science play a key role in developing the luxury materials of tomorrow? Will growing concerns about sustainability and resources drive invention or generate new interest in old technologies and techniques? Speakers will include Max Lamb and Brent Dzekciorius, Jane Withers and Daisy Ginsberg.
